Since the outbreak of COVID-19, nucleic acid testing has played a proactive role in early detection of positive cases based on practical experience from nationwide pandemic containment efforts, and has been vigorously promoted as a fundamental measure for regular epidemic prevention and control. Currently, specialized nucleic acid testing institutions have been established across China. According to regulations from the National Health Commission, there are three main types of healthcare institutions providing nucleic acid testing services in China: 1) medical institutions such as hospitals and maternal and child health centers; 2) disease control agencies, including centers at national, provincial, municipal, and county levels; and 3) medical testing laboratories, categorized as healthcare institutions and commonly referred to as "third-party testing institutions".
By the end of 2022, health administrative departments in Lanzhou, Beijing, Hefei, Shijiazhuang, Xuchang, Inner Mongolia, and other regions discovered serious illegal activities involving falsified test reports by certain testing institutions, with particular societal scrutiny directed at third-party testing companies.
Against this backdrop, CnOpenData has collected comprehensive industrial and commercial basic information, shareholder details, external investment records of shareholders, and registration change histories for all nucleic acid testing institutions based on the national registry, aiming to facilitate related research.
