The food manufacturing industry refers to the industrial production sector that processes agricultural and sideline products into food through physical processing or yeast fermentation methods, with raw materials mainly derived from primary products of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, and subsidiary industries. As a major grain-producing country with rich and long-standing dietary culture, China has traditionally maintained the fundamental recognition that "food is the paramount necessity of the people (民以食为天)". Therefore, conducting in-depth analysis of the food manufacturing industry is of crucial importance.
CnOpenData categorizes the food industry into three sectors according to the National Economic Industry Classification: Agricultural and Sideline Food Processing Industry, Food Manufacturing Industry, and Alcohol, Beverage, and Refined Tea Manufacturing Industry.
