Introduction to Basic Industrial and Commercial Registration Information Data of Manufacturing Industry Single Champion Enterprises
In March 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the Implementation Plan for the Cultivation and Promotion of Manufacturing Industry Single Champion Enterprises. The plan stated: "By 2025, we aim to summarize and enhance 200 manufacturing single champion demonstration enterprises and identify and cultivate 600 enterprises with the potential to grow into single champions." As of 2023, MIIT has selected eight batches of national manufacturing single champion enterprises nationwide. Regarded as the "pearls on the crown" and the "pinnacle of the pyramid" in manufacturing, the quantity and quality of single champion enterprises have become crucial indicators for measuring regional manufacturing development levels.
Single champion enterprises refer to companies that have long focused on specific niche product markets in manufacturing, possess internationally leading production technologies or processes, and hold globally top-tier market shares for individual products. This concept encompasses two dimensions:
- "Single": Enterprises must concentrate on target markets and maintain long-term specialization in related fields.
- "Champion": Enterprises must demonstrate champion-level market dominance and technical capabilities in their specialized segments.
CnOpenData has compiled basic industrial and commercial registration information for eight batches of manufacturing single champion enterprises in China from 2016 to 2023 from China's industrial and commercial registration data. The dataset covers fields including Enterprise Name (企业名称), Industrial and Commercial Registration Number (工商注册号), Registration Date (注册时间), Registered Address (注册地址), Company Status (公司状态), Industry Classification Name and Code (行业分类名称及代码), Enterprise Profile (企业简介), and Business Scope (经营范围).

As of March 2024, MIIT has certified and released eight batches of manufacturing single champion demonstration (incubation) enterprise lists from 2016 to 2023:
- 2016: 53 first-batch demonstration enterprises, 44 incubation enterprises
- 2017: 71 second-batch demonstration enterprises, 20 incubation enterprises
- 2018: 68 third-batch demonstration enterprises, 26 incubation enterprises
- 2019: 64 fourth-batch demonstration enterprises
- 2020: 90 fifth-batch demonstration enterprises
- 2021: 118 sixth-batch demonstration enterprises
- 2022: 140 seventh-batch demonstration enterprises
- 2023: 388 eighth-batch demonstration enterprises
