地理与交通数据

The national 1:1 million fundamental geographic data covers mainland China and major islands including Taiwan Island, Hainan Island, Diaoyu Islands, South China Sea Islands, and their adjacent waters, comprising 77 standard map sheets at 1:1 million scale. The overall temporal accuracy of this dataset is 2015. It adopts the 2000 National Geodetic Coordinate System, the 1985 National Vertical Datum, and uses latitude-longitude coordinates.

To meet public demands for geographic information resources, the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping, and Geographic Information has authorized the free download of partial 1:1 million data. The downloadable data follows the 1:1 million standard sheet distribution, containing 12 feature layers: administrative divisions (面), administrative boundary points (领海基点), administrative boundaries (线), hydrography (点、线、面), roads and railways (点、线), settlements (点、面), settlement toponyms (注记点), and natural toponyms (注记点).

As the provided data consists of raw vector data rather than finalized maps, there are inherent visualization differences compared to symbolized maps. Users employing this geographic data for map compilation must strictly comply with the "Regulations on Map Management". Maps intended for public release must undergo official map review procedures as required by law.

CnOpenData, authorized by the National Geomatics Center of China, has incorporated the 1:1 million national fundamental geographic database into its public data repository for academic access. For data downloads, please visit the National Geographic Information Resource Directory Service System.

Technical Specifications

  • Sheet Numbering and Coverage

The 2017 edition of 1:1 million topographic data contains 77 map sheets, compliant with GB/T 13989-2012 "Subdivision and Numbering for National Fundamental Scale Topographic Maps". Spatial storage units follow 6° (longitudinal difference) × 4° (latitudinal difference).

  • Coordinate Systems
  1. Planar coordinate system: 2000 National Geodetic Coordinate System
  2. Vertical datum: 1985 National Elevation Datum
  3. Map projection: Geographic coordinates (degree units) for sheet data
  • Geometric Accuracy

Updated feature points meet the following error requirements relative to field control points, with double mean errors as maximum tolerances:

  • Temporal Accuracy

The temporal accuracy of 1:1 million topographic data aligns with its source materials, achieving an overall temporal reference of 2015.

Data Organization

The downloadable 1:1 million topographic data contains 5 datasets with 12 data layers.

Layer naming follows a four-character convention:

  • First character: Data category
  • Second/third characters: Data content abbreviation
  • Fourth character: Geometry type
