Equity auction constitutes a form of equity transfer. It refers to a civil legal act whereby a company shareholder legally transfers their shareholder rights through auction to a transferee for consideration, enabling the transferee to acquire equity. Equity types such as limited liability companies, shares of non-listed joint-stock companies, and tradable shares of listed companies fall outside the scope of the Provisions of the Supreme People's Court on Several Issues Concerning the Freezing and Auction of State-owned Shares and Social Legal Person Shares of Listed Companies. Such cases shall be executed in accordance with the Provisions of the Supreme People's Court on Auction and Sale of Property. During civil enforcement proceedings, auction is the primary method employed by People's Courts for disposing of seized, impounded, or frozen assets.
