Twitter (X) is a globally renowned social media platform celebrated for its unique capabilities in rapid information dissemination, interactivity, and real-time engagement. Users can express opinions, share life moments, and repost or comment on content—messages known as "Tweets." Described as the "SMS of the Internet," Twitter's efficacy in innovating public interaction methods, participating in international communication, and engaging in global discourse exchanges continues to strengthen. It plays a pivotal role across political, commercial, and entertainment domains.
The term "post-truth" first appeared in a 1992 article in The Nation, characterizing a media ecology where emotions outweigh facts in shaping public opinion. With the advent of the omnimedia era and the mediatization and globalization of private daily life, synchronous global communication and collective participation have become hallmarks of contemporary society. Social media has emerged as a vital force in facilitating global discourse and communication.
