External guarantees refer to guarantees provided by listed companies for others, including guarantees provided to their controlled subsidiaries. "Total external guarantees of a listed company and its controlled subsidiaries" denotes the sum of the listed company's external guarantees (including those to controlled subsidiaries) and the external guarantees provided by its controlled subsidiaries. Guarantee matters supervised by securities regulators involve the following entities: guarantors include listed companies and their controlled subsidiaries; guaranteed parties include listed companies, their subsidiaries, related parties, and unrelated third parties. Specifically, any guarantee provided by a listed company or its subsidiaries not for their own debts is classified as a guarantee provision. However, guarantees for their own debts are excluded. Notably, counter-guarantees provided by a listed company upon request by a third party who initially guaranteed the listed company still fall within the regulatory scope of guarantee provisions.
