External guarantees refer to guarantees provided by listed companies for third parties, including guarantees provided to their controlled subsidiaries. "Total external guarantees of a listed company and its controlled subsidiaries" represents the sum of all external guarantees issued by the listed company (including those to its controlled subsidiaries) and guarantees issued by its controlled subsidiaries to external parties. Guarantee matters regulated by securities regulators involve the following: the guarantor includes the listed company and its controlled subsidiaries; the guaranteed party includes the listed company itself, its subsidiaries, related parties, and unrelated third parties. Specifically, any guarantee provided by a listed company or its subsidiaries not for their own debts constitutes regulated guarantee activity. Guarantees for their own debts are excluded. However, counter-guarantees provided by the listed company when a third party guarantees its debt still fall under regulatory supervision.
