Banks are financial institutions that operate currency and credit businesses. They issue credit money, manage currency circulation, adjust the supply and demand of funds, and handle currency deposits, loans, and settlements. They are products of the development of the commodity and money economy to a certain stage.

Since the reform and opening up, China's commodity economy has become increasingly active, and the scale of the banking industry has developed rapidly. However, in the current context of accelerating interest rate liberalization, intensifying internal and external competition, and declining profit growth rates, it is imperative that banking financial institutions make corresponding strategic adjustments in business structure, resource allocation, and regional layout. Industry research on the development environment and market demand is becoming increasingly important.

To support relevant research, CnOpenData has launched specific indicator data for all banks in China. This dataset encompasses various specific indicator information extracted from annual reports, quarterly reports, and interim reports of over 1,500 domestic banks, including fields such as bank name, reporting period, non-performing loan ratio, net interest margin, loan-to-deposit ratio, and capital adequacy ratio.
