CnOpenData Introduction to China Patent Statistics by Region

 In regional economics, the technological level, political system, population distribution, natural resource status, etc. in the region have a great impact on the economic activities of the region. Science as the "primary productive force" Technology is closely related to regional urbanization and urban economic issues, spatial structure, regional productivity layout, resource development and utilization and other issuesTechnological progress directly promotes social and economic growth.

 As an important indicator for measuring technological innovation, patent data is sufficient to measure innovation results. According to the intellectual property statistical briefing released by the State Intellectual Property Office in December 2020, from January to November 2020, my country had 1.403 million invention patent applications and 470,000 invention patent authorizations, a year-on-year increase of 40% from 2019. Such large-scale patent statistics easily show that my country’s innovation level is still showing a steady momentum of development. However, we found that the development of patent macro data in the industry is too monotonous. Most of them use provinces and years as the smallest statistical units, failing to conduct statistical mining at a more micro level.

 Compared with patent data at the micro-enterprise level, CnOpenData's China patent statistics by region supports the innovative development of regions from a macro perspective. This data is based on the 2020 Administrative Region Code and is divided into regions according to provinces, cities, districts and counties, and month is the smallest statistical unit. Nationalpatent application and patent authorization data are carefully collected.
