 With the deterioration of the global environment, accelerated resource consumption and people's increasing attention to environmental protection issues, green technologies focusing on reducing resource consumption, developing renewable resources, mitigating environmental pollution and other environmental protection fields have become a hot topic around the world. Relevant policies to encourage and support the development of green industries have been issued frequently, promoting the rapid development of green technology and environmental protection industries. However, the creation, application, promotion and other processes of green technology are inseparable from the intellectual property system, especially the protection of the patent system. The United States, the United Kingdom, China, the European Union, the United Nations Climate Change Conference and other countries, regions, and international organizations have begun to use the patent system to Starting from its public policy attributes and combining the goals of green technology innovation and development, the green patent system will be practically explored.

  Green technology refers to technologies that are conducive to saving resources, improving energy efficiency, preventing and controlling pollution, and achieving sustainable development. It mainly includes alternative energy, environmental materials, energy conservation and emission reduction, pollution control and treatment, and recycling technology. At present, our country is actively exploring the construction of a green patent system. In particular, the "Patent Priority Examination Management Measures" implemented in August 2017 clearly stated: involving energy conservation and environmental protection, new generation information technology, biology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, new materials, New energy vehicles and other key national development industries can request priority review.

According to the "China Green Patent Statistical Report (2014-2017)" released by the Intellectual Property Office in 2018, my country's green innovation activities are currently active, and the number of green patents has gradually increased. As of the end of 2017, the number of effective green patents in my country In terms of patent applications, from 2014 to 2017, the number of green patent applications in my country reached 249,000, and the average annual growth rate was 3.7 percentage points higher than the overall average annual growth rate of my country's invention patents.

 CnOpenData data team identified patent citations and citations based on the three categories of China's green patents: invention application patents, invention authorized patents, and utility model patents, and divided them into a China Green Patent Citation Table and a China Green Patent Cited Table. Provide data support for research content on green patents.
