Introduction to China’s green and low-carbon patent citations and cited data

  Green and low-carbon technologies include related technologies that achieve carbon reduction, zero carbon and negative carbon effects mainly through the clean utilization of traditional energy, energy conservation and efficiency improvement, the utilization of new energy and the capture, utilization and storage of greenhouse gases. , does not include pollution reduction, resource recycling and other green technologies that have synergistic effects on carbon reduction. Green and low-carbon technology patents refer to patents with green and low-carbon technology as the theme of invention. Compared with existing technologies, they should have the technical effect of reducing carbon emissions.

 This classification system is an independent classification system, using the line classification method to divide green and low-carbon technologies into four-level technology branches. The first-level technology branches include fossil energy carbon reduction technology, energy conservation and energy recycling, clean energy, energy storage technology, greenhouse gas capture, utilization and storage. The second-level technology branches (19 ), third-level technical branches (56), and fourth-level technical branches (62), a total of 142. This classification system is constructed using a framework that compares international patent classifications with green and low-carbon technologies, drawing on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s green technology list and the Japan Patent Office’s green transformation technology list to achieve international comparability of the classification system and support the global green and low-carbon technology database. The construction of green and low-carbon technology patents facilitates the international exchange and transfer of green and low-carbon technology patents.

  The citation and cited data of China's green and low-carbon patents launched by the CnOpenData data team is based on the international patent classification system and is divided into three parts: Invention published patents, invention authorized patents, and utility model patents.   • This classification system establishes a reference relationship between green and low-carbon technologies and the International Patent Classification Table. Green and low-carbon technology corresponds to one or more international patent classifications, which means that the patents under this international patent classification are related to the green and low-carbon technology.
  • "Partially involved" in the "International Patent Classification" column of this classification system means that some patents at the international patent classification level and the following classification numbers involve green and low-carbon technologies; "All involved" means that the international patent classification level and the following classification numbers are involved All patents involve green and low-carbon technologies.
  • This classification system uses the "International Patent Classification (IPC2022)" as the reference basis.
  • Low carbon includes: fossil energy carbon reduction technology + energy conservation and energy recycling; zero carbon includes: clean energy + energy technology; negative carbon includes: greenhouse gas capture, utilization and storage.
