Elderly care institutions refer to organizations that provide centralized accommodation and care services for older adults. Civil affairs departments of local people's governments at or above the county level are responsible for guiding, supervising, and managing elderly care institutions within their administrative regions. Other relevant departments implement oversight in accordance with their respective duties.

Unlike other services, elderly care constitutes holistic, comprehensive, and continuous support. These institutions provide integrated services including accommodation, hygiene maintenance, daily living assistance, health management, and recreational activities. Most elderly care institutions in China primarily serve urban "three-no" seniors (those without financial means, familial support, or capacity for self-care) and rural "five-guarantee" elders (receiving food, clothing, housing, medical care, and burial support), with non-profit objectives dominating their operational models, demonstrating significant public welfare characteristics.

With the advancement of population aging and rural urbanization, social demand for elderly care services has surged. However, constrained by operational challenges in care institutions and inadequate implementation of policy measures, elderly care has become a critical issue requiring urgent resolution.

To support related research, CnOpenData presents national elderly care institution data, covering nearly 30,000 care service institutions nationwide with detailed information including institution name(机构名称), location(所在地区), geographic coordinates(经纬度), institution type(机构类型), bed capacity(床位数), and fee standards(收费标准).
