  Land transactions represent economic relationships formed during the circulation of land rights, primarily involving exchanges of land ownership, usage rights, leasing rights, and mortgage rights. In China, as a critical resource, land acquisition, reserve management, and transactions are uniformly regulated by the state.

  Through decades of reform and opening-up practices, China's land transaction market has expanded significantly, with notable shifts in land use objectives.

  Research indicates:

  • From 2003 to 2013, China witnessed rapid growth in land conveyance, while post-2013, the growth rate of total land conveyance slowed, though land conveyance revenue continued to rise.
  • Between 2003 and 2018, the composition of land conveyance exhibited distinct trends: increased proportions for transportation facilities and green/public square land uses, stable shares for residential, commercial, and public administration/service facilities, while industrial, logistics/warehousing, and utility land uses showed decelerating growth and contraction tendencies.

  CnOpenData integrates land rights holder lists from land conveyance records with China's business registration data to construct the China Land Rights Holders' Basic Information Extended Dataset. This dataset provides comprehensive details including Social Credit Code(社会信用代码), registration date(注册时间), enterprise nature(企业性质), location (province/city/county)(所在省市县), and industry classification(行业信息), supporting related research. Notably, it includes ID and electronic supervision number(电子监管号) fields for direct matching with land transaction records.
