A bond is a type of security issued by debtors such as governments, enterprises, and banks to raise funds, created through legal procedures, which promises repayment of principal with interest to creditors by a specified date. The relationship between bond purchasers or investors and issuers is one of creditor-debtor, where the bond issuer acts as the debtor, and the investors (bond purchasers) are the creditors. Based on the different types of issuers, bonds in the bond issuance market can be categorized into: government bonds, financial bonds, and corporate (enterprise) bonds. As a creditor-debtor instrument, bonds, like other securities, represent virtual capital rather than real capital; they are certificates of the real capital utilized in economic operations.

In recent years, China's bond market has developed at an exceptionally rapid pace, playing a significant role in serving the economy, increasing the proportion of financing, and supporting supply-side financing reform. According to the Statistical Yearbook of the People's Bank of China, the scale of China's bond market has steadily expanded, with total bond issuance continuously growing. In 2021, the total bond issuance in China reached 61.38 trillion yuan.

Research on the bond market is crucial for constructing a new landscape in the bond market. Consequently, CnOpenData has launched the China Bond Issuer Information Data, categorized into Basic Information Table of Bond Issuers, Balance Sheet of Bond Issuers, Income Statement of Bond Issuers, and Cash Flow Statement of Bond Issuers.
