  Since the advent of the information age, the rapid development and widespread application of digital technologies have given rise to the digital economy. Distinct from the agricultural economy of the agrarian era and the industrial economy of the industrial age, the digital economy represents a new economic form, driving force, and business model that has triggered profound societal and economic transformations. Currently, digital technologies, products, and services are not only accelerating their penetration into traditional industries through multi-directional, multi-level, and multi-chain integration (termed industrial digitization), but also fostering the continuous growth of digital industry chains and industrial clusters (termed digital industrialization).

  Today, the digital economy has become a new engine driving China's high-quality and rapid economic growth. Various new business models emerging from the digital economy will also serve as crucial growth points for China's economy. To better support the innovative development of the digital economy, China released the Reference Relationship Table Between Core Digital Economy Industries and International Patent Classification (2023) in March 2023, which aligns the International Patent Classification with core digital economy industries. This document maximizes coverage of patents related to core digital economy industries while providing a clearer and more accurate foundation for constructing specialized patent databases.

  Following these standards as guiding principles and aligning with the official list of Chinese universities published by the Ministry of Education, CnOpenData offers comprehensive patent data related to the digital economy from Chinese universities. Structurally, this dataset categorizes patents into three types: invention disclosures, granted inventions, and utility models. Each category includes citation and cited tables to demonstrate citation relationships, complementing patent application and authorization data in the digital economy. This aims to provide academia with high-quality, advanced specialized data support for digital economy research.
