Second-hand housing (二手房) refers to properties that have been registered at real estate transaction centers, completed initial and total registration, and are relisted for sale. Compared to newly developed commercial housing held by developers, it represents the tertiary market for property rights transactions, including commercial housing, tradable second-hand public housing (房改房), poverty-alleviation housing (解困房), relocation housing (拆迁房), self-built housing (自建房), affordable housing (经济适用房), and price-restricted housing (限价房).

Cities are classified into first-tier, new first-tier, second-tier, and third- to fifth-tier cities based on criteria such as housing prices, urban development levels, living standards, per capita income, regional influence, talent attraction, and international recognition.

CnOpenData provides comprehensive national second-hand housing data, covering 28 provincial-level administrative regions, municipalities, and over 90 key cities. The dataset is categorized into transaction records (成交信息) and listing information (挂牌信息), with further subdivisions based on city tiers, offering targeted and hierarchical research value. This data serves as a high-quality big data sample for studying housing vacancy rates, the effectiveness of real estate regulation policies, and future price trends. It also enables insights into urban development, China's urbanization process, and macroeconomic growth.
