The gig economy refers to short-term, flexible work arrangements that differ from traditional "9-to-5" employment, leveraging internet and mobile technologies to rapidly match supply and demand. It constitutes a vital component of the sharing economy and represents a novel form of human resource allocation. This economic sector primarily consists of freelancers undertaking task-based work, facilitated through digital platforms, and mainly includes two forms: crowd-based work and on-demand work mediated through applications.

The search index is a metric that gauges the popularity and trends of specific keywords across search engines. Derived from data provided by major search platforms, it enables businesses or individuals to understand search volumes related to particular topics. Through this index, multidimensional insights can be obtained regarding keyword search frequency, temporal trends, geographical distribution, and more.

The "gig economy" as a new economic model is gaining global momentum. According to data released by China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2021, approximately 200 million individuals in China are engaged in flexible employment.

CnOpenData's gig economy search index dataset is structurally organized into two tables based on data characteristics: the Search Index Table and the News Index Table.
