Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) refer to pilotless, self-propelled aircraft operated via remote radio control or autonomous programming, utilizing aerodynamic forces for flight and capable of being recovered and reused. UAVs encompass various technical categories, including unmanned fixed-wing aircraft, unmanned vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, unmanned airships, unmanned helicopters, unmanned multi-rotor aircraft, and unmanned parafoil vehicles.
Compared to manned aircraft, UAVs offer advantages such as compact size, lower costs, operational flexibility, reduced environmental requirements, and enhanced battlefield survivability.

Based on application domains, UAVs are classified into three major categories with distinct performance priorities:

  • Military UAVs: Demand higher sensitivity, altitude/speed capabilities, and intelligent control, representing the most technologically advanced category. Applications include reconnaissance, decoy operations, electronic warfare, communication relay, target drones, and unmanned combat aerial vehicles.
  • Civilian UAVs: Prioritize operator training requirements and cost-effectiveness over extreme speed/altitude performance, necessitating mature industrial chains for affordable components and support services. Current primary markets involve government public services (e.g., law enforcement, firefighting, meteorology), with emerging demand in agricultural plant protection, cargo delivery, aerial wireless networks, and data acquisition.
  • Consumer-grade UAVs: Typically employ low-cost multi-rotor platforms for recreational purposes such as aerial photography and gaming.

CnOpenData's UAV Products and Manufacturer Information Dataset systematically organizes UAV product specifications and manufacturer details, including fields such as manufacturer name (生产商名称), product name (产品名称), product model (产品型号), flight control system provider (飞控厂家), and application scenarios (产品用途).
