Introduction to Digital Economy Patent Application and Authorization Data of A-share Listed Companies

  Since human society entered the information age, the rapid development and widespread application of digital technologies have given rise to the digital economy. Distinct from the agricultural economy of the farming era and the industrial economy of the industrial age, the digital economy represents a new economic form, a novel driving force, and emerging business models, triggering profound transformative changes across society and the economy. Currently, digital technologies, products, and services are not only accelerating their penetration into traditional industries through multiple dimensions, levels, and chains—referred to as industrial digitization (产业数字化)—but are also driving the continuous expansion of digital industry chains and industrial clusters, known as digital industrialization (数字产业化).

  Today, the digital economy has become a new engine driving China's high-quality economic growth. The various new business models spawned by the digital economy will also serve as crucial new growth points for China's economy. To better support the innovative development of the digital economy, China released the Correspondence Table between Core Industries of Digital Economy and International Patent Classification (2023) in March 2023. This document aligns the International Patent Classification with the classification of core digital economy industries, maximally covering patents related to core digital economy sectors while providing clearer and more accurate foundations for constructing specialized patent databases.

  CnOpenData utilizes the aforementioned standards as foundational guidelines for database construction and matches them with A-share listed companies and their subsidiaries, offering comprehensive digital economy patent data for A-share listed companies. Structurally, this dataset categorizes patents into three types: invention publications (发明公布), invention authorizations (发明授权), and utility models (实用新型). Each category includes basic information tables and transaction tables to present fundamental details and legal status updates, complementing the digital economy patent citation/reference data of A-share listed companies. This framework aims to provide academia with high-quality, cutting-edge thematic data support for digital economy research.
