The fifth-generation mobile communication technology (5G) is a new generation of broadband mobile communication technology characterized by high speed, low latency, and massive connectivity. 5G communication infrastructure serves as the network foundation for achieving interconnection among humans, machines, and objects.
As a new type of mobile communication network, 5G not only addresses human-to-human communication by providing users with immersive, cutting-edge service experiences such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and ultra-high-definition (3D) video, but also tackles human-to-object and object-to-object communication issues to meet the application demands of the Internet of Things (IoT), including mobile healthcare, vehicle-to-everything (V2X), smart homes, industrial control, and environmental monitoring. Ultimately, 5G will penetrate into all sectors and fields of the economy and society, becoming a critical new infrastructure supporting the digital, networked, and intelligent transformation of the economy and society.
As an industry and market related to fifth-generation mobile communication technology, the 5G sector features broad application scenarios, vast development prospects, and certain challenges. With the gradual maturation and widespread application of 5G technology, the 5G industry will bring more opportunities and development space to society. All parties should strengthen cooperation to jointly promote the development of the 5G industry and drive the prosperity of the digital economy.
In this context, CnOpenData referenced industry materials and the business registration scope of leading enterprises in the sector, selecting 16 relevant keywords to filter and extract data from China's industrial and commercial registration enterprise basic information dataset. This process yielded 1.89 million records of basic information on enterprises in the 5G industry registered for industrial and commercial purposes, providing valuable support for related research. It is further noted that to reduce noise in the data, entities categorized under the "Wholesale and Retail Trade" industry sector and those registered as "Individual Industrial and Commercial Households" were excluded from the extracted data to filter out irrelevant content such as mobile phone stores and telecom service outlets.
