Sino-foreign bilateral trade data refers to trade statistics between China and other countries/regions compiled by national customs authorities. To maximize economic benefits, China has explored the establishment of bilateral economic cooperation or free trade agreements (FTAs) with strategically significant trading partners worldwide. This represents a pathway for integrating China's economy into the global economic system, exerting profound impacts on the nation's sustainable development. Through analyzing this dataset, we can investigate three critical dimensions:
- Regional Economic Integration Development. Establishing positioning for globalized and regionalized trade exchanges to guide policy formulation and calibration.
- China's Non-Tariff Barrier System. Constructing an early-warning system for non-tariff barriers to comprehensively monitor macroeconomic trends of major trading partners, quantify industrial and market dynamics in foreign markets, and track sector-specific indicator changes.
- The Belt and Road Initiative. This initiative has enhanced China's export volume to participating countries, optimized the overall trade structure, and continues to unleash policy effects as the initiative advances into higher-level and deeper-tier cooperation.
The CnOpenData Sino-Foreign Bilateral Trade Database consolidates country-specific trade statistics from the Ministry of Commerce of China, covering 59 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, Americas, and Oceania, along with two regions: Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan Province of China. The database comprises 12 sub-tables:
