New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) refer to automobiles that utilize unconventional vehicle fuels as power sources (or employ conventional vehicle fuels with new on-board power devices), integrating advanced technologies in vehicle power control and drive systems, thereby forming vehicles characterized by advanced technological principles, novel technologies, and innovative structures.

As an emerging industry with a distinctly government-oriented nature, NEVs have experienced explosive growth in recent years. Consequently, enterprises across the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain have begun entering the field of power battery recycling. On one hand, the rapid development of the NEV industry in recent years has led to an urgent need to address the environmental issues arising from the large-scale decommissioning of power batteries. On the other hand, the recycling, reprocessing, and utilization of power battery raw materials will significantly enhance China's self-sufficiency rate in power battery raw materials, reduce dependence on upstream resources, and help alleviate the tension between supply and demand for raw materials. However, in the early stages of industry development, challenges such as insufficient mandatory policies and regulations and irregular development persist. Strengthening the recycling and utilization of power batteries for NEVs, improving institutional development and traceability management, and balancing the performance and environmental objectives throughout the entire battery lifecycle have become imperative.

CnOpenData introduces data on service outlets for recycling power batteries of NEVs, comprising the enterprise names, outlet names, and location information of service outlets nationwide for recycling NEV power batteries, with additional provision of longitude and latitude coordinates for these locations, to better support relevant academic research.


Time Period

This dataset includes two cross-sectional files: the March 2023 version and the January 2025 version (updatable as needed).
