According to Article 44 of the "Regulations on Radio Administration of the People's Republic of China": "Except for micro-power short-range radio transmission equipment, any other radio transmission equipment produced or imported for domestic sale and use shall apply for type approval from the national radio administration authority."
The registration of radio transmission equipment sales implements territorial management principles—who sells, who registers. Based on laws and regulations such as the "Company Law," "Regulations on the Administration of Registration of Enterprise Legal Persons," "Regulations on the Administration of Company Registration," and "Regulations on the Administration of Individual Industrial and Commercial Households," the possession of a business license determines whether an entity qualifies as an independent market operator. Both the head office and branch offices must complete sales registration if they engage in sales activities; different physical stores under the same enterprise must also register if they hold separate business licenses.
CnOpenData has compiled over 60,000 records of registration information from enterprises selling radio transmission equipment from early 2019 to early 2023 to support relevant research.
