The China Industrial Enterprises Database stands as one of the most frequently used and crucial economic datasets in academic research. It comprehensively covers all state-owned industrial enterprises and non-state-owned industrial enterprises above designated size (主营业务收入 above 5 million RMB annually), with legal entities as statistical units. The "industrial" sector classification here encompasses three categories from the "National Economic Industry Classification": mining, manufacturing, and production/supply of electricity, gas, and water, with manufacturing constituting over 90% of the total. The "above designated size" threshold was raised from annual main business revenue of 5 million RMB to 20 million RMB in 2011.
Complementing the existing industrial enterprise data, CnOpenData has successively released enhanced versions including Basic Enterprise Information, Patent Data, and Green Patent Data. This newly launched Key Personnel Information dataset contains comprehensive profiles of corporate executives such as board chairpersons(董事长), general managers(总经理), executive directors(执行董事), and supervisors(监事), covering various senior management roles.
