Household services refer to the socialization, professionalization, and marketization of certain domestic affairs, which fall within the domain of people’s livelihood. These services are undertaken by specialized social institutions, community organizations, non-profit entities, household service companies, and professional household service providers to assist families in their interactions with society, establish family norms, improve household quality of life, and thereby advance overall societal development. Household services encompass more than 20 categories and over 200 service items. Adapting to the diverse characteristics of market demand, the household service sector has demonstrated a trend toward diversification. Traditional services such as cleaning, moving, and nanny services have become increasingly segmented, while offerings such as monthly nursing, companionship, chatting services, financial management, and health care have evolved into key components of household services.
On February 20, 2019, the State Council executive meeting proposed measures to promote the expansion and quality improvement of household services and specified actions across four aspects, including facilitating household service enterprises' entry into communities and advancing the standardization of household services. On June 26, 2019, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Promoting the Quality Enhancement and Expansion of the Household Service Industry."
To support relevant research, CnOpenData has launched China’s household service information dataset, covering multiple service types including live-in nannies, non-live-in nannies, monthly nurses, childcare providers, hourly workers, temporary hourly workers, and nursing care workers. The dataset comprises two tables: nanny information and store information, containing fields such as nanny name (保姆名称), reputation (好评情况), location (所在地区), expected salary (期望薪资), ethnicity (民族), birthplace (籍贯), personal skills (个人特长), and affiliated store (所在门店).
