Research reports, typically referred to as broker research reports, are also commonly known as "sell-side research reports." These are research reports written by analysts at securities companies and can serve as references for investment activities. A comprehensive broker research report generally bases its analysis on facts, data, and research information to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the value of specific securities. It summarizes views on listed companies, industries, or macro policies and provides investment ratings for relevant stocks. The research institute of a securities firm is its public face and brand symbol. Although it does not generate direct profits, its strength significantly impacts the development of the firm's brokerage business, investment banking business, direct investment subsidiaries, and other operations. High-quality research reports attract public/private funds to open accounts and trade, thereby generating brokerage revenue.

Research reports can be categorized into macroeconomics, investment strategies, industry analysis, company research, bond research, futures research, and financial engineering, among others, based on the research subject. Among these, company research reports are one of the most closely followed. Company research reports generally refer to analyses conducted by dedicated financial researchers from securities firms or investment banks on the operational and profitability conditions of certain listed companies. These reports are provided to investors for reference and cover, but are not limited to, the company's industry, industry position, future growth potential, and fundamental aspects.
