Banks are financial institutions engaged in currency and credit operations. As products of the developmental stage of commodity-money economies, they facilitate economic activities through issuing credit money, managing currency circulation, balancing capital supply-demand relationships, and handling monetary deposits/loans and settlements.
Since the reform and opening-up, China's commodity economy has become increasingly dynamic, driving rapid expansion in the banking sector. However, under current conditions of accelerating interest rate liberalization, intensifying domestic and international competition, and declining profit growth rates, banking institutions must implement strategic adjustments in business structures, resource allocation, and regional layouts. Industry research targeting development environments and market demands has become crucially important.
To support related research, CnOpenData presents specialized indicator data covering all Chinese banks. This dataset encompasses various special indicators from annual reports, quarterly reports, and interim reports of over 1,500 domestic banks, including fields such as bank name(银行名称), reporting period(报告期), non-performing loan ratio(不良贷款率), net interest margin(净利息收益率), loan-to-deposit ratio(存贷比), and capital adequacy ratio(资本充足率).
